CHRIST'S POWER AND AUTHORITY OVER ALL DEMONS

·         TEXT: MARK 5:1-20        BIBLE READING: PSALM 138-142            GHS 103
Mark  4:35; Matthew 24:35; Numbers 23:19-20; Psalms 119:89; 89:34; Isaiah 40:8; Mark 11:14,20-23; Matthew 18:18; 5:1.

Whenever God Speak to us through His word, we need the open mind to receive everything He reveals to us, and we need to obey Him promptly because the Lord had given us His word and He has declared it, and whatever He declared becomes a Decree. Here we see the demonstration of Christ's Power and Authority over all demons; Jesus Christ is pictured as a Man of Action and Authority. His Authority is seen in His teaching, in His power over demons, and in forgiving people's sin. When Jesus Christ gave a declaration the storms arose between the declaration and the destination, but the Storm couldn't stop the word of God and it couldn't cancel what God has spoken. It’s impossible that Satan will rise up any problems that can totally destroy and cancelled the declaration of Christ. When Jesus Christ speaks the word of decree it will be fulfilled. Anytime you hear the word of God and whatever comes after that word of Christ, Christ has spoken and it shall be fulfilled in our lives. Storms or no storm, crisis or challenge etc. whatever Christ has spoken concerning it must be fulfilled. Balaam cannot reverse the word of God. False prophets cannot stop the word of God, spiritual problem that may arise after His spoken word cannot reverse the word of God. God's word in our lives will be fulfilled and once the word of God is spoken and declared, it's decree and settled in Heaven. You can go to sleep after the word of God has been declared without any fear of demons, whatever may roar the word of God will be fulfilled, Jesus is our Creator, He's our Redeemer, He's the One that is leading the Word and we rested in the word of God. He spoke the word of Salvation, Redemption, Healing and Deliverance into your life and it will be fulfilled. Any other promise that remains to be fulfilled will be fulfilled.

Before JESUS Christ came over unto the other side, the, while He was in the ship, there arose a great storm of wind because of this Three Things :

√ Because there was demonic spirit to be cast out.

√ Because there were diseases to be cured.

√ Because there was Death that He wanted to take away. That was the reason the devil arose a great storm of wind.

POINT ONE : THE AUTHORITY OF CHRIST OVER ALL DEMONS

Mark 5:1-13 ; Mark 5:2-8, 9:17-23, Luke 8:29 ; Mark 5:8-15; 9:22-28 ; Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:17-20 

Jesus Christ has Authority and Power over all the demons and sin, and that Power of JESUS Christ remain the same today as of Old. When Christ just spoken A word into the life of a demon possessed man, that One word of Jesus Christ destroys thousands of evil spirits. If you have any challenge, Christ will take care of that challenge. Jesus Christ heals a demon possessed man who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him with chains

1. The Activities and the characteristics of the demons. Many people today has different, diverse demonic characteristics operating in their lives. this man we are talking about had a kind of extra demonic power and he broke the chains they used to bind him in pieces because he was beyond himself. we also have some people today that power of demon makes them  

2. The Authority of Christ over demons.. This man was a better habitation to the demons, but Jesus Christ IN His Authority and Power drove them away, Jesus Christ has Power and His word always come out with Authority and Power. Jesus can do and He will today.

3. Our Ability to Cast out demons. Jesus Christ has given us Power over all demons, He has given power to every believing

POINT TWO : THE ANTAGONIZING AGAINST CHRIST AFTER THE DELIVERANCE

Mark 5:12-17 ; Mark 5:15, Ephesians 4:20. 1 Peter 1:13-16, Romans 12:1-2 ; Mark 4:16; Leviticus 11:7-8; Luke 15:15-24; 2 Peter 2:20-22 ; Mark 5:17; 8:36-38; Philippians 3:18-19; Job 21:11-15; 22:15; Luke 13:27-28; Matthew 25:41 

And all the devils besought Jesus, saying, send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. and forth with Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine and the man was healed and delivered, but the people in the land drove Jesus Christ away because of their swine. they loved swine more than Salvation and Saviour. they couldn't understand that Jesus Christ sent the Devils into the swine because they are forbidden to the Israelites but they couldn't understand, and they antagonised against Christ because of their swine. they were greatly troubled in their hearts that how is it that Christ helping a man by allowing thousands of swine to be destroyed, and they Drove the Saviour away because of their love for pigs more than Saviour. Jesus Christ also sent the devils into the swine because the soul of man was greater than all the pigs in the world but these people couldn't understand because they loved the swine more than they loved the Saviour. they were antagonists. they have more value for their pigs than the soul of man and they drove Jesus Christ away.

i. The clear liberation from evil spirits.

ii. A Consuming Love for their swine demonstrated. these people loved the swine more than the Saviour and salvation, they loved their swine than their souls.

iii. The costly loss of their soul . They drove the Saviour away because of their love for the swine, they costly loss their souls because of the things of the world that profited nothing.

POINT THREE: AN AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST THROUGHOUT DECAPOLIS.

Mark 5:18-20 ; Mark 15:18; John 6:68; 8:31; 15:4-5; 1 John 2:28 ; Mark 5:19; John 4:28-30; Luke 10:37; 14:23 ; Mark 5:20; Luke 8:39-40; Acts 26:18-20; 11:21.

After The Healing and deliverance of this demon possessed man, he became an ambassador for Christ in Decapolis. he became a good effective ambassador of Christ and he publishes What Christ has done for him.

i. The Test of True Conversion. This man wanted to be with Christ after his deliverance because his conversion was true. when you are truly converted the test of true conversion is that you want to stay and abide with Christ, you heard the word of eternal life but you want to hear more and more, that liberated man wanted to stay with Jesus Christ and abide with Him every day. The true mark of conversion is that, you hear the word of God and you are meditating on it and analyzing it, and every day you have the new experiences in the word of God.

ii. The Task for True Converts Consecration. If you are rarely Born Again and truly saved there's task for you, because if you are truly Born Again you will go and tell the story of redemption to the sinners, you will speak and proclaim and publish the Gospel of Salvation to the Lost souls,

iii. The Triumph of True Consecration. Many people received some benefits from the Lord but they run away and you cannot see them functioning properly and Regular in the church, once they received miracle from the Lord they will not witness it to the sinners, but in the case of this man, he has triumph of True consecration. Jesus Christ has saved us from sin, we must preach it, Christ has liberated us we must publishes it.
